A Rover Rescue
An Act 1 side quest in a Cavern in Wightmire. Clear the escaped convicts holding the Rovers prisoner, then speak to Jasper; the conversation starts and completes the quest on the spot.

WHY PLAYERS GET STUCK
The Cavern is not fixed: it spawns at one of three locations around the Wightmire Rift—west-northwest, southeast, or east in Sodden Hollow. This quest is not picked up from a town NPC.
WALKTHROUGH
- 1Find the Cavern in Wightmire
- ▸Use the Wightmire Rift as your starting point.
- ▸The Cavern entrance has three candidates: west-northwest of the rift, southeast of it, or east in Sodden Hollow.
- ▸Only the entrance selected for that session is open, so check the remaining candidates if the first one is blocked.
- 2Kill the convicts in the Cavern
- ▸Enter the Cavern and proceed to the captive Rovers.
- ▸Kill the Convicts around the prisoners to make the area safe.
- ▸These are rare Act 1 members of Cronley's Gang, but there is no unique boss or quest item to collect.
- 3Speak to Jasper and complete the rescue
- ▸After the enemies are dead, speak to the captive Jasper.
- ▸Tell him the Rovers are free. Offering a riftgate to Devil's Crossing only leads him to decline because they will return to their own people.
- ▸The conversation completes the quest immediately and awards XP plus 250 Rovers reputation; there is no separate turn-in NPC.
STILL LOST?
If you cannot find the entrance, return to the Wightmire Rift and check all three candidates: west-northwest, southeast, then east in Sodden Hollow. If Jasper will not complete the rescue, look for a remaining Convict in the room.
There is no prerequisite, DLC requirement, or reward-changing dialogue choice. The Cavern can be found later, so the quest is not permanently missable. Rewards are difficulty-scaled XP and 250 Rovers reputation.
