WHY PLAYERS GET STUCK
Milton is not tied to one fixed house. He can appear at any of three ruined houses along the road in Sodden Hollow, northeast of the Wightmire Riftgate. Check the other houses if the first is empty.
WALKTHROUGH
- 1Accept the quest from Sybil Hart
- ▸Complete the main quest Welcome to Devil's Crossing; this opens access to the prison interior.
- ▸Speak to Sybil Hart inside Devil's Crossing.
- ▸Accept her request to put Milton to rest and bring back his amulet.
- 2Travel from Wightmire Rift to Sodden Hollow
- ▸Travel to the Wightmire Rift and follow the main road northeast.
- ▸At Sodden Hollow beyond the broken road, locate the three ruined houses spread east to west.
- ▸Milton's spawn varies, so search all three houses along the road.
- 3Kill Milton Hart and collect the amulet
- ▸Kill the Hero enemy Milton Hart near one of the ruined houses.
- ▸Pick up the guaranteed quest-item drop, Hart's Amulet.
- ▸Milton drops the amulet even before you speak to Sybil; picking it up starts the quest.
- 4Return the amulet to Sybil Hart
- ▸Return to Devil's Crossing and give Hart's Amulet to Sybil Hart.
- ▸Rewards are difficulty-scaled XP, +100 Devil's Crossing reputation, and Sister's Amulet of Lifegiving.
- ▸XP is 300 on Normal, 10000 on Elite, and 36000 on Ultimate.
STILL LOST?
If you cannot find Milton, reset your route from Wightmire Rift, follow the road northeast into Sodden Hollow, and check all three ruined houses. After the kill, make sure Hart's Amulet was picked up.
Base Game only; no DLC is required. There is no reward-changing choice or follow-up quest. It is not permanently missable because the amulet can start the quest before speaking to Sybil and can be turned in later. Milton can also drop the unique helmet Milton's Casque.
