WHY PLAYERS GET STUCK
The destination lies northeast of the Rotting Croplands Rift but cannot be reached directly. Go northwest first, then follow the route northeast. Permanent green floor hazards near The Amalgamation deal percentage-health damage and ignore Aether resistance.

- 1Accept Captain Somer's mission
- ▸Complete The Black Legion's Finest.
- ▸Accept the quest from Captain Somer in Homestead's planning room.
- ▸The route into the western farmlands opens.
- 2Reach The Gruesome Harvest
- ▸Go northwest from the Rotting Croplands Rift.
- ▸Follow the route as it bends northeast to its end.
- ▸Enter the gated compound called The Gruesome Harvest.
- 3Kill The Amalgamation in the barn
- ▸Lure Aetherials out through the gate in small groups if needed.
- ▸Enter the large barn; no Skeleton Key is required.
- ▸Kill The Amalgamation while avoiding its Physical/Aether attacks and resistance-ignoring green hazards.
- 4Report to Captain Somer
- ▸Return to Captain Somer in Homestead.
- ▸Rewards are 11,000 / 38,000 / 73,000 XP and 2,000 / 7,000 / 17,500 Iron.
- ▸Gain +250 reputation each with Homestead and the Black Legion.
STILL LOST?
Do not head directly northeast from the Rotting Croplands Rift. Go northwest first, follow the route northeast to the gated compound, and find the large barn.
A Base Game Act 3 main quest with no timer or failure branch. Completion unlocks The Way North, Blood Harvest, Allies Among the Ashes, A Final Salute, and Lumber for the Legion. The Amalgamation can drop the Pulsing Shard MI off-hand.
