WHY PLAYERS GET STUCK
Cronley's Hideout is at the top of Four Hills, northwest of the Old Arkovia Rift. The circular pit near the Four Hills entrance contains an optional strong encounter when Forgotten Gods is installed; it is unrelated to this quest and can be skipped.
WALKTHROUGH
- 1Accept the quest and travel to Old Arkovia
- ▸Complete Murderers and Worse..., then accept An Old Threat from Mornay in the Devil's Crossing command room.
- ▸Travel northwest from Devil's Crossing through the Arkovian Foothills and activate the Old Arkovia Rift.
- ▸Use Dynamite to clear the blocked route on the way and continue through Rocky Coast.
- 2Enter Cronley's Hideout through Four Hills
- ▸Head northwest from the Old Arkovia Rift and enter Four Hills.
- ▸Climb Four Hills and enter Cronley's Hideout at the top.
- ▸The route through Hanneffy Mine is an optional shortcut.
- 3Kill Darius Cronley
- ▸Fight through the hideout and kill Darius Cronley after the first-encounter dialogue; the dialogue does not change the quest outcome.
- ▸His main damage types are Physical and Aether. When the pale blue spherical shield is active, he absorbs most incoming damage, so disengage until it expires if you cannot remove buffs.
- ▸Keep moving out of persistent Aether ground effects, handle his summons, and raise Aether Resistance before the fight.
- 4Unlock the Twin Falls Rift and report to Mornay
- ▸After the kill, use the exit at the rear-left of the boss area and activate the Twin Falls Rift before returning.
- ▸Rift back to Devil's Crossing and report to Mornay.
- ▸The reward includes difficulty-scaled XP and Iron, +1,000 Devil's Crossing reputation, and unlocks We Need Food.
STILL LOST?
If Mornay does not offer the quest, finish and turn in Murderers and Worse.... If the hideout is hard to find, return to the Old Arkovia Rift and head northwest into Four Hills. After killing Cronley, take the rear-left exit and unlock the Twin Falls Rift before reporting, since it is the route forward into Act 3.
This is a non-missable base-game main quest. Normal/Elite/Ultimate rewards are 10,000/34,000/85,000 XP and 2,500/9,000/20,000 Iron. Darius Cronley can also drop the unique Monster Infrequent ring Cronley's Signet.
