An Act 1 main quest offered by Barnabas during Helping Out. Collect 5 Scrap to repair the water pump, then travel through the Prison Dungeons to Devil's Aquifer and kill Viloth, the Corruptor. On Normal, the final reward includes the first Inventory Bag.

WHY PLAYERS GET STUCK
The Scrap repair and Slith hunt are separate stages. Continue talking to Barnabas after turning in the Scrap to receive the second objective. The entrance is the cellar door in the shack behind him; it leads through the Prison Dungeons before Devil's Aquifer.
WALKTHROUGH
- 1Accept Barnabas's request
- ▸During Helping Out, speak to Barnabas by the wind pump outside the prison wall on the south side of Devil's Crossing.
- ▸He asks for 5 Scrap to repair the settlement's water pump.
- 2Collect and deliver 5 Scrap
- ▸Find Scrap in breakable barrels and crates, ruined houses, and enemy drops around Lower Crossing and the Old Dump.
- ▸Return 5 Scrap to Barnabas; on Normal, this stage rewards 350 XP and 300 Iron.
- ▸Continue the conversation after the repair. The pumped water is poisoned, and the objective updates to killing Viloth.
- 3Reach Devil's Aquifer through the Prison Dungeons
- ▸Open the cellar door in the shack behind Barnabas.
- ▸Travel through the Prison Dungeons and continue into Devil's Aquifer.
- ▸Do not confuse the cellar entrance with Devil's Aquifer itself; the Prison Dungeons come first.
- 4Kill Viloth, the Corruptor
- ▸Find and kill the Slith matriarch Viloth, the Corruptor, in Devil's Aquifer.
- ▸Avoid her poison attacks and pools, then confirm the objective updates to returning to Barnabas.
- 5Report back to Barnabas
- ▸Return to Devil's Crossing and report to Barnabas.
- ▸On Normal, the final reward is 500 XP, +100 Devil's Crossing reputation, and an Inventory Bag. The bag is not awarded on Elite or Ultimate.
STILL LOST?
For the Scrap stage, search breakables around Lower Crossing and the Old Dump. For the Viloth stage, return to Devil's Crossing and use the cellar door in the shack behind Barnabas: Prison Dungeons first, then Devil's Aquifer.
Prerequisite: Helping Out. There is no time limit or failure branch, so it is not missable. Its Normal reward is the first inventory expansion.
