Mad Ramblings
An Act 6 side quest offered by Ivonda at the Steelcap District Resistance Hideout after For the People. Recover Ivonda's Memory in Malmouth Harbor, then either return it for reputation and Ivonda's Gift or follow its clue to the secret room in the Tomb of Herald Mathis and the A Mad Stash achievement.
The quest chest spawns only after accepting the quest. The key decision is when to turn it in: returning Ivonda's Memory first prevents the normal secret-room route and A Mad Stash achievement on that difficulty. For the achievement, first activate the unlit torch in the Tomb of Herald Mathis and enter beyond the secret door.
- 1Accept the quest from Ivonda
- ▸Complete For the People and secure the Resistance Hideout in the Steelcap District.
- ▸Speak to Ivonda in the hideout and accept her request to find the reminder she lost.
- 2Recover Ivonda's Memory in Malmouth Harbor
- ▸From the Crown Hill Rift, go southwest to the crossroads, then northwest to the northern tip of Malmouth Harbor.
- ▸Open the fixed chest inside the house and take Ivonda's Memory. The chest does not spawn before the quest is accepted.
- ▸You also receive Clipping from Ivonda's Memory, which contains the clue to the hidden stash.
- 3Choose the reward route
- ▸For the direct reward, return the memory immediately: 17,000 / 32,000 / 70,000 XP by difficulty and +250 Malmouth Resistance reputation.
- ▸After leaving and re-entering the area, Ivonda's Gift appears near the tents northeast of her.
- ▸For the achievement and hidden chests, do not return the memory yet; go to the Tomb of Herald Mathis.
- 4Open the secret room with the unlit torch
- ▸Enter the Tomb of Herald Mathis from its entrance on the west side of the Steelcap District.
- ▸In the southeastern corner room, activate the only unlit Loose Torch.
- ▸Pass through the opened secret door and crypt entrance into Ivonda's Hideaway. Entering awards A Mad Stash and gives access to several treasure chests.
- ▸After looting, return to Ivonda. You receive the same XP, but not the +250 reputation or Ivonda's Gift.
If the chest is missing, confirm that you accepted the quest from Ivonda in the Steelcap District. The Malmouth Harbor chest is inside a house at the harbor's northern tip, northwest from the crossroads southwest of the Crown Hill Rift. If the secret door will not open, find the single unlit torch in the tomb's southeastern corner room.
