A short Act 3 side quest that starts automatically when you pick up Daila's Diary from a house in northwestern Thornsbury Farm. Return it to Daila Thornsbury in Homestead to complete the quest and unlock the later Act 6 quest A Sister's Love in Ashes of Malmouth.

WHY PLAYERS GET STUCK
There is no quest giver. Leave Homestead through its western exit, search the northwestern part of Thornsbury Farm, and interact with the lectern inside the house. The quest begins only when you pick up the diary, so do not search Homestead for an NPC beforehand.
WALKTHROUGH
- 1Enter Thornsbury Farm from western Homestead
- ▸From the Homestead Rift, go to the settlement's western exit and enter Thornsbury Farm.
- ▸The destination is the farm immediately west of Homestead, not the Blood Grove or Darkvale.
- ▸There is no quest giver or prerequisite, and the quest does not appear in the log until the diary is collected.
- 2Collect Daila's Diary in the northwestern house
- ▸Enter the house in the northwestern part of Thornsbury Farm.
- ▸Interact with the Lectern inside and collect Daila's Diary.
- ▸Picking it up automatically starts Missing Diary and grants the lore note Excerpt from Daila's Diary as a progress reward.
- 3Return the diary to Daila in Homestead
- ▸Return to Homestead and speak with Daila Thornsbury inside the settlement.
- ▸Handing over the diary completes the quest; on Normal it awards 5,000 XP and +100 Homestead reputation.
- ▸The XP reward is 15,000 on Elite and 32,000 on Ultimate.
STILL LOST?
If you cannot find the diary, return to Homestead's western exit and search only the northwestern house in Thornsbury Farm. It is a fixed quest item on an indoor lectern, not an enemy drop.
There is no time limit or failure branch, and the diary can be collected later, so the quest is not missable. Although this is a short Base Game Act 3 quest, completing it unlocks the Act 6 quest A Sister's Love when Ashes of Malmouth is installed. The Ultimate-only secret sequence associated with Daila's diary is separate; Missing Diary itself is available on all campaign difficulties.
