Service Beyond Death
An Order of Death's Vigil faction side quest offered by the Keeper of Tomes after completing The Sacred Ashes and reaching Respected reputation. Enter the newly opened Chamber of Souls, ask Soulkeeper Kaandris to begin the ritual, defeat every wave of spirits, and help resurrect Malkadarr.
The destination is inside the Bastion itself. After accepting, use the formerly sealed gate just east of the Keeper. Entering the Chamber alone does not start the event; speak to Soulkeeper Kaandris and confirm that you are ready. Dying during the waves does not fail the quest—you can return and finish the remaining enemies.
- 1Accept the quest from the Keeper of Tomes
- ▸Join the Order of Death's Vigil and complete the prerequisite quest The Sacred Ashes.
- ▸Raise Order reputation to Respected (rank 2).
- ▸Accept the quest from the Keeper of Tomes in the Bastion of the Order west of Sorrow's Bastion.
- 2Enter the Chamber of Souls
- ▸Accepting the quest unlocks the barred gate immediately east of the Keeper of Tomes.
- ▸Pass through it into the Chamber of Souls.
- ▸Speak to Soulkeeper Kaandris and confirm that you are ready to begin the Rite of Resurrection.
- 3Defeat every wave of spirits
- ▸Defeat every wave of undead and hostile spirits drawn into the Chamber during the ritual.
- ▸The waves include the shade of Noveria Stormfire, previously killed during A Catalyst.
- ▸Death does not fail the quest. Return to the Chamber and kill any remaining enemies to complete the ritual.
- 4Confirm the resurrection and report back
- ▸After the final wave, the ritual completes and Malkadarr returns.
- ▸Leave the Chamber and report success to the Keeper of Tomes.
- ▸Rewards are 15,000 / 43,000 / 79,000 XP by difficulty, +1,000 Order reputation, and a random Epic weapon. The Search for Uroboruuk becomes available once Order reputation reaches Honored.
If the quest is unavailable, confirm completion of The Sacred Ashes and Respected Order reputation. Once accepted, stay inside the Bastion and use the newly opened barred gate east of the Keeper. If no enemies appear, speak to Soulkeeper Kaandris and confirm readiness. After dying, return to the same room to continue.
