The Gloomwald Stash
The Gloomwald Stash is a short Act 5 side quest in Ashes of Malmouth. It has no quest giver: loot the Nane's Stash note from a chest inside an old house northeast of the Gloomwald Rift to begin it. Travel north, use one Dynamite at the Detonation Site, and open Nane's hidden one-shot chest to complete the quest.
The Detonation Site does not exist until the quest is active. If no Dynamite prompt appears at the rockfall, return to the house and make sure you picked up the Nane's Stash note on the current difficulty; completion on another difficulty does not activate it here.
- 1Find the note in the Gloomwald house
- ▸Reach and unlock the Gloomwald Rift during Ashes of Malmouth Act 5; no prerequisite quest or faction reputation is required.
- ▸Travel northeast from the rift and enter the old house that also contains a cellar entrance.
- ▸Open the small chest inside and take the Nane's Stash note to start the quest automatically.
- 2Locate the Detonation Site to the north
- ▸Head north from the note's house; the destination is southwest of the Gloomwald Crossing Rift.
- ▸A quest marker appears as you approach. Look for a rockfall with a Detonation Site.
- ▸If the site is absent, confirm that The Gloomwald Stash appears in the quest log.
- 3Blast open the secret area
- ▸The Detonation Site requires one Dynamite; obtain one before returning if necessary.
- ▸Interact with the site, place the Dynamite, and stand clear of the blast.
- ▸Pass through the opened rockfall into the small secret area.
- 4Open Nane's secret stash
- ▸Open Nane's one-shot chest in the secret area.
- ▸The quest completes immediately when the chest is opened; there is no NPC turn-in.
- ▸XP is 17,000 on Normal, 32,000 on Elite, and 70,000 on Ultimate. The one-shot chest can be opened once per character per difficulty.
Start at the old house northeast of the Gloomwald Rift, take the note, then travel north. From the other direction, the stash is southwest of the Gloomwald Crossing Rift. If the marker or Detonation Site is missing, collect the note again on the current difficulty.
