An Act 7 side quest offered by Seer Laurna at the Vanguard of the Three. Branch southwest from the ruins north of the Korvan City Rift, enter the Pit of Atonement, kill Okaloth - "The Messenger", and report back to Laurna.

WHY PLAYERS GET STUCK
The Pit of Atonement is not directly beside the Korvan City Rift. Go north into the city ruins, then take the southwest branch toward the volcanic area while heading toward the shrine. This quest is distinct from the non-quest NPC called The Messenger found after Kymon's Secret.
WALKTHROUGH
- 1Accept the quest from Seer Laurna
- ▸Advance Act 7 until you reach the Vanguard of the Three.
- ▸Speak with Seer Laurna of the Cult of Dreeg at the hub and accept The Messenger.
- ▸The quest does not require choosing a particular Witch God cult or joining Kymon's Chosen.
- 2Reach the Pit of Atonement from Korvan City
- ▸Travel to the Korvan City Rift and head north into the remains of Korvan City.
- ▸On the route toward the shrine in the city ruins, take the branch leading southwest into the volcanic area.
- ▸Follow that branch to the entrance of the Pit of Atonement.
- 3Destroy Okaloth
- ▸Proceed through the Pit of Atonement and kill the boss Okaloth - "The Messenger".
- ▸Avoid his fire attacks and hazardous ground effects, then confirm the objective updates to returning to Laurna.
- 4Report back to Seer Laurna
- ▸Return to the Vanguard of the Three and report to Seer Laurna.
- ▸Rewards are 4000 / 16000 / 40000 XP on Normal / Elite / Ultimate, +250 Cult of Dreeg reputation, and Eldritch Essence.
- ▸Ultimate also awards 1 Attribute Point.
STILL LOST?
If you cannot find the Pit of Atonement, return to the Korvan City Rift. Head north into the ruins and look for the southwest branch before reaching the shrine. The destination is not near the Conclave or the Vanguard hub.
There is no prerequisite, time limit, or failure branch, so the quest is not missable. It can be accepted even if you pledged to another cult, and the Ultimate reward is a permanent Attribute Point.
